Exhibition Summary: The Ohio Arts Council (OAC) in partnership with the Friends of the Library and Columbus Metropolitan Library (CML) presents the annual Ohio Artist Registry Juried exhibition. These three organizations have collaborated for more than a decade on prior iterations of this type of exhibition. In 2023, this exhibition will feature the work of Ohio artists who are members of the new Ohio Artist Registry (OAR). The Ohio Artist Registry, which inherits the legacy of the retired Ohio Online Visual Artist Registry (OOVAR), showcases work by Ohio artists.
Eligibility Requirements: Entrants must be living Ohio residents, 18 years and older, who are registered in the Ohio Artist Registry. If you are not an OAR registrant, a registry request must be received by October 14, 2022, to be eligible to apply to the juried exhibition. To register for the OAR please visit www.oac.ohio.gov/Resources/Ohio-Artist-Registry and click on ”Register” in the upper right corner. OAC and CML employees are not eligible to apply.
Exhibition Information: The juried exhibition will be presented in the Carnegie Gallery at the Columbus Metropolitan Library’s Main Library from February 3 to March 31, 2023. Three Juror’s Choice awards of $500, provided by the Ohio Arts Council, will be selected by a panel of jurors made of a professional Ohio artist, a Columbus Metropolitan Library employee, and a member of Friends of the Library. The exhibition does not have a theme. Only work appropriate for display in a public building will be considered. Work submitted cannot have been previously displayed/presented at the Carnegie Gallery.
