The Ohio Artist Registry (OAR) is an exciting opportunity for artists to share their work, connect with the creative community, and establish an online presence—all on a free, virtual platform! The OAR encourages artists working in all art forms, throughout Ohio and beyond, to create a profile, which allows them to better promote themselves and their work. Being listed in the OAR provides artists with new opportunities to share their work with clients, galleries, patrons, and audiences. A listing in the OAR does not confer an endorsement, approval, or verification by the Ohio Arts Council.

Wallstreet Wes Great Minds Think DifferentBio
Wallstreet Wes is a poet from Cleveland, Ohio that developed the art while serving 10 years in prison for aggravated robbery. He did poetry to keep afloat his mental health. He eventually became the Poets Laureate of the prison system as he helped other men learn poetry in hopes that they would learn how to be better communicators in place of being violent. Now that he is free he still serves as the Poets Laureate of the prison system with the focus on helping the self esteem of prisoners and also shedding light on Post Incarceration Syndrome.
Artist Statement
My focus is the mental health of people who have experienced prison. It is proven that poetry is a grand tool for the issues that comes with being confined. My goal is to empower prison poets and to shed light on the mental health issues that’s being overlooked and under studied.
