The Ohio Artist Registry (OAR) is an exciting opportunity for artists to share their work, connect with the creative community, and establish an online presence—all on a free, virtual platform! The OAR encourages artists working in all art forms, throughout Ohio and beyond,  to create a profile, which allows them to better promote themselves and their work. Being listed in the OAR provides artists with new opportunities to share their work with clients, galleries, patrons, and audiences. A listing in the OAR does not confer an endorsement, approval, or verification by the Ohio Arts Council.

Bio

Primarily I am a landscape photographer, though I love including people in my work enjoying the natural world around them, as well as street photography when I am in new or exciting locations. I also enjoy night photography, so I try to find places where light pollution is minimal to better bring out the majesty of the night sky. For my landscapes, I am focused on locations with the larger United States, with a particular interest on the National Forest systems, which are less used than their National Park cousins. That work is fairly standard photography, and I do little to alter the original images ither than some post-processing to make the landscapes match my memory. However, for my nightscapes I have turned to star tracking and then image stacking techniques to fully develop the potential to capture the night sky. Most of my images are shared with an online audience, but I am also working toward some showings in and around my hometown, highlighting the amazing Americana landscapes I have been privileged enough to encounter through my travels.

Artist Statement

Primarily I am a landscape photographer, though I love including people enjoying the natural world around them, as well as street photography in new or exciting locations. Recently, I have been taking the back roads and finding small communities that represent a vibrant slice of Americana in our own backyard.
