Bio
STEVEN RIGGS is a professional artist residing in central Ohio and maintaining a studio in Circleville Ohio.
My work is realism. I work in oils, graphite, watercolor and mixed media. I am known for my portraits. Exhibit quite often and accept commissions throughout the year.
I have worked extensively in the field of architecture, design and classical artwork utilizing archival materials in Old World methods.
Artist Statement
My work is reminiscent of the post-renaissance… it is realism. My paintings can be reminiscent of the pre-raphaelite era yet also with a touch of modern aestheticism.
I do quite a few commissions throughout the year. I am known for my portrait work. I love to capture not just the likeness of the subject but the personality. I usually spend as much time on the eyes as I do much of the rest of the portrait.
My work is reasonably priced and I only utilize archival materials.
