The Ohio Artist Registry (OAR) is an exciting opportunity for artists to share their work, connect with the creative community, and establish an online presence—all on a free, virtual platform! The OAR encourages artists working in all art forms, throughout Ohio and beyond,  to create a profile, which allows them to better promote themselves and their work. Being listed in the OAR provides artists with new opportunities to share their work with clients, galleries, patrons, and audiences. A listing in the OAR does not confer an endorsement, approval, or verification by the Ohio Arts Council.

Bio

Stephanie Franklin is a multidisciplinary visual artist and founder of S.J. Artt Studio, a media and technology-driven creative practice. Based in Ohio, her work combines traditional mixed media techniques with contemporary storytelling, often incorporating ink and acrylic markers to create emotionally expressive, high-contrast compositions.

Franklin’s artistic focus centers on identity, neurodivergence, and the human experience, with a strong emphasis on LGBTQ+ narratives and community connection. Her work aims to create spaces where viewers feel seen, understood, and emotionally engaged.

In addition to her art practice, Franklin has a background in full-stack software development and is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Digital Marketing. This interdisciplinary foundation informs her approach to building immersive creative experiences across both physical and digital platforms. She is currently developing large-scale exhibitions, including her upcoming November 2026 show in Cincinnati, and continues to expand her work through public exhibitions, digital media, and community-centered projects.

Artist Statement

My work is rooted in emotion, memory, and identity. I use mixed media—primarily ink and acrylic markers—to create bold, expressive pieces that reflect both internal experiences and shared human connections.

As a neurodivergent and LGBTQ+ artist, I am deeply interested in how people process the world differently, and how art can act as a bridge between those experiences. Many of my pieces explore themes of vulnerability, love, disconnection, and self-discovery, often using color and movement to communicate what words cannot.

I create with the intention of making people feel seen. Whether someone connects with a piece through their own story, a memory, or a feeling they can’t quite name, I want the work to resonate on a personal level. Art, for me, is not just visual—it’s emotional, immersive, and meant to stay with you.
