The Ohio Artist Registry (OAR) is an exciting opportunity for artists to share their work, connect with the creative community, and establish an online presence—all on a free, virtual platform! The OAR encourages artists working in all art forms, throughout Ohio and beyond,  to create a profile, which allows them to better promote themselves and their work. Being listed in the OAR provides artists with new opportunities to share their work with clients, galleries, patrons, and audiences. A listing in the OAR does not confer an endorsement, approval, or verification by the Ohio Arts Council.

Artist Statement

I am influenced by the environment surrounding me. When creating art, I believe we influence others by modifying the environment which in turn influences us, completing the cycle. When conceptualizing a work, I spend time watching and listening what is going on in the world. My approach to art is both reflective of the people involved in its creation and the uninitiated viewer. Using portraiture, I create another world and building a myth. The resulting Art becomes a parable that tells the truth. As a classically trained artist, I readily integrate contemporary materials and processes to make sure the work is relevant and timely. Community and grant funded public art projects are one way of interacting with viewers, studio-based work is another. I am very sensitive to the space, time, and people I work with and it shows in the finished artwork.

I exhibit nationally with artwork in several collections including Magee Women’s Hospital, The Childrens Museum Pittsburgh Charm Bracelet Project funded by the National Endowment for the Arts and the Grable Foundation, Dick Blick Art Supply LLC, WEBB Law, Del Monte, Citizen’s Bank, The Public Employees Retirement System for the State of Ohio, Ohio State University, and Austin Peay State University to name a few.
