The Ohio Artist Registry (OAR) is an exciting opportunity for artists to share their work, connect with the creative community, and establish an online presence—all on a free, virtual platform! The OAR encourages artists working in all art forms, throughout Ohio and beyond, to create a profile, which allows them to better promote themselves and their work. Being listed in the OAR provides artists with new opportunities to share their work with clients, galleries, patrons, and audiences. For more information, contact Kathy Signorino, artist programs director, at firstname.lastname@example.org or 614-728-6140.

Matt lives in Columbus, Ohio and has spent most of his career working in Information Technology (IT). Although he has a degree in Information Technology from Franklin University, the pursuit of a life in art has always been his ambition. From a very early age he found ways to incorporate creativity into his daily life, whether that was copying cartoons from the Sunday paper or building snow sculptures during the Wisconsin winters. As an adult his creativity shifted to pen and ink illustration, fan art and acrylic painting. While Matt enjoys exploring new media to create art, since 2020 his artistic journey has brought him to realism painting of birds and wildlife. Absorbing instruction from books and online, he continues to refine his techniques to give his work a more realistic presence. As a member of the Clintonville Arts Guild, he engages with other local artists to learn more about artistic creativity. In the coming years he hopes to have pieces accepted to juried shows while building patron interest in his wildlife and bird paintings.
Wildlife. I can’t or shouldn’t catch it, so why not paint it? I’ve been making art in some form or fashion since I was young. Pencil, pen, wood and paint, for fun and family my art has been both for gifts and for keeps. Since the Covid times my obsession has been birds and realism. Please enjoy my journey toward making something real.
