The Ohio Artist Registry (OAR) is an exciting opportunity for artists to share their work, connect with the creative community, and establish an online presence—all on a free, virtual platform! The OAR encourages artists working in all art forms, throughout Ohio and beyond, to create a profile, which allows them to better promote themselves and their work. Being listed in the OAR provides artists with new opportunities to share their work with clients, galleries, patrons, and audiences. For more information, contact Kathy Signorino, artist programs director, at kathy.signorino@oac.ohio.gov or 614-728-6140.

Bio
As a kid, I was frequently in trouble at school because I preferred drawing on the back of my work papers rather than doing the task at hand. My degrees include a B.S. in Design from the University of Cincinnati and a B.S. in Art Education from the University of Akron. While teaching in the Canton City Schools, I earned National Board Certification in art. I have been employed as a commercial artist, an elementary art teacher and a university professor teaching studio classes and art history. I currently live on a farm with my husband and cats, where I paint in a converted barn/studio. Trained as an illustrator, I prefer watercolors, pastels and mixed media. I enjoy the company of fellow artists from all walks of life, along with opportunities to share my work with non-artists.
Artist Statement
Art is found everywhere. To find it, one must have powers of observation and imagination. I find beauty in colors, shapes and patterns that occur in the natural world. Watching people interact with the world is another source of inspiration. Trained as an illustrator, I find subjects and portray them realistically, always adding my own touch. There are no boundaries or limitations for what I chose as subject matter. Making art is joy to me, sharing my work is a privilege.
