The Ohio Artist Registry (OAR) is an exciting opportunity for artists to share their work, connect with the creative community, and establish an online presence—all on a free, virtual platform! The OAR encourages artists working in all art forms, throughout Ohio and beyond, to create a profile, which allows them to better promote themselves and their work. Being listed in the OAR provides artists with new opportunities to share their work with clients, galleries, patrons, and audiences. A listing in the OAR does not confer an endorsement, approval, or verification by the Ohio Arts Council.

Bio
Kelly Stamblesky was born in Northeast Ohio. As a child she developed a keen interest in the natural world, exploring both flora and fauna in the field and woods near her childhood home. Having an affinity for animals, she’d often bring home injured birds for her mother to “fix.” As a child, drawing was a way for Kelly to communicate. When adults couldn’t understand what she was trying to say, a quick drawing would convey her message. She later would use art to express her deep appreciation to the people in her life and for the beauty of the world around her. Throughout primary and secondary school in the Mentor School District, Kelly excelled at art and really matured as an artist under the tutelage of her high school art teachers, Janet Luttermoser (Rieger) and Ray Lillback. She won many awards in the Tri County Art Awards and took top honors in the Ohio Women’s Federation Scholarship contest. Kelly attended Kent State University for Graphic Communications on an honors scholarship and later transferred to Center for Creative Studies – College of Art and Design in Detroit, Michigan where she had hoped to channel her fine art leanings into pursuing a career in illustration. Kelly works primarily in acrylics and gouache choosing subjects that evoke a mood or feeling and capturing the essence or personality of those subjects. Her art has been influenced by the artists, Claude Monet and Leonardo daVinci, and illustrators, Maxfield Parrish and Edmund Dulac; all masters in the handling of light and atmosphere within their paintings. Kelly has participated in numerous art fairs including those at Laurel School and the Willoughby Fine Arts Association. She was the artist in residence at the Dancing Sheep Gallery for 7 years.
