The Ohio Artist Registry (OAR) is an exciting opportunity for artists to share their work, connect with the creative community, and establish an online presence—all on a free, virtual platform! The OAR encourages artists working in all art forms, throughout Ohio and beyond,  to create a profile, which allows them to better promote themselves and their work. Being listed in the OAR provides artists with new opportunities to share their work with clients, galleries, patrons, and audiences. For more information, contact Kathy Signorino, artist programs director, at kathy.signorino@oac.ohio.gov or 614-728-6140.

Bio

I have been a practicing artist as well as an art educator for many years.  I earned my B.F.A from the Columbus College of Art and Design, and received my M.A. Ed from the Ohio State University. I am designated as a Master Teacher with the Ohio Department of Education.

Artist Statement

I create a variety of storytelling collaged/assemblage vignettes that explore and investigate alternate materials to expand how we look at and use the myriad of flotsam found in society to reinvent interpretation and meaning not only of materials but of the story being told.  My use of imagery is drawn from a variety of sources – both written and oral elements as well as visual iconography and remembrances – anything  from palmistry books, dream books, and magic and circus show posters to a variety of popular culture imagery and events.

I also create etchings often incorporating some of the same imagery as my assemblages.
