The Ohio Artist Registry (OAR) is an exciting opportunity for artists to share their work, connect with the creative community, and establish an online presence—all on a free, virtual platform! The OAR encourages artists working in all art forms, throughout Ohio and beyond,  to create a profile, which allows them to better promote themselves and their work. Being listed in the OAR provides artists with new opportunities to share their work with clients, galleries, patrons, and audiences. For more information, contact Kathy Signorino, artist programs director, at kathy.signorino@oac.ohio.gov or 614-728-6140.

Bio

Ian S. Cross received a Master of Fine Arts degree in Printmaking and Drawing in 2004 from The Ohio State University. His creative projects blend traditional printmaking, drawing processes, and mixed media. The studio works are inspired by an underlying interest in handwriting architectures, language, poetics, and urban debris. His prints, drawings, and mixed media artworks have been exhibited nationally, internationally and are held in museums, corporate and private collections

Artist Statement

My creative work represents the found line, shape or pattern that can speak about the experiment of our own ongoing visual conversations because the work of art is a shared experience.

Ultimately for me, images are more like pliable words and phrases that are constantly being remade for a kind of unknown poetic device.
