The Ohio Artist Registry (OAR) is an exciting opportunity for artists to share their work, connect with the creative community, and establish an online presence—all on a free, virtual platform! The OAR encourages artists working in all art forms, throughout Ohio and beyond, to create a profile, which allows them to better promote themselves and their work. Being listed in the OAR provides artists with new opportunities to share their work with clients, galleries, patrons, and audiences. A listing in the OAR does not confer an endorsement, approval, or verification by the Ohio Arts Council.

Bio
I am from the Dayton area and currently reside in Columbus. I have an art history degree from Ohio State with a focus on 20th century modern art. I am married and have 3 dogs and 2 cats. My hobbies are flower gardening and travel.
Artist Statement
I create mixed media works from yarn, crochet thread, embroidery floss and other types of fiber. I use found objects and a coiling/wrapping technique to create free form sculpture. I am inspired by traditional art- still life, landscape, religious painting and iconography as well as kitsch and folk art. I try to create some sort of harmony between a high-art tradition and craft. Each work takes hundreds of hours to complete and for this reason, I have many works in progress. After being frustrated with painting, it took me a long time (over ten years) of not making art before I found my medium. It was my love of making friendship bracelets as a teen that somehow re-emerged in my forties as free-form sculpture.
