The Ohio Artist Registry (OAR) is an exciting opportunity for artists to share their work, connect with the creative community, and establish an online presence—all on a free, virtual platform! The OAR encourages artists working in all art forms, throughout Ohio and beyond,  to create a profile, which allows them to better promote themselves and their work. Being listed in the OAR provides artists with new opportunities to share their work with clients, galleries, patrons, and audiences. A listing in the OAR does not confer an endorsement, approval, or verification by the Ohio Arts Council.

Bio

I’m a Harvard grad and a veteran of 44 years on daily newspapers, mostly at Cleveland Plain Dealer. I’ve won three national journalism prizes and many statewide ones. I’ve freelanced for The Washington Post, The Daily Beast, Time, The Boston Globe, American Education, Children’s Television Workshop, Black Issues in Higher Education, Philadelphia Magazine, The Land, Freshwater Cleveland, the SHAD (Shaker Area Development) Connection, Shaker Life, and many other outlets.

I’ve published 12 works of fiction in college journals and other outlets. I’ve earned honorable mention in Whiskey Island’s yearly contest at Cleveland State.

I’ve also written the well-received “John D. Rockefeller: Anointed With Oil” (Oxford, 2001), which Booklist called “fascinating” and “first-rate.” “Rockefeller” has been published in the U.S., Korea, and China.
