After over 40 years working in (and teaching) film/video production, I returned to my first love of sculpture and to my childhood home of Gambier, Ohio. I work in wood, as local and non-exotic as possible, making small pieces and showing them in the region. I have been shown at the Mansfield Art Center, the Dairy Barn (Athens), The Schnormeier Gallery (Mt Vernon), and The Galleries on High (Columbus).
Artist Statement
My work is fairly small scale, made of local woods and natural reed, and colored with stains or acrylics. When I work, I shrink myself and go for walks across the curving surfaces, exploring the the peaks and crevices, a virtual expedition. My hope is that the viewer will be moved to take similar journeys.
