The Ohio Artist Registry (OAR) is an exciting opportunity for artists to share their work, connect with the creative community, and establish an online presence—all on a free, virtual platform! The OAR encourages artists working in all art forms, throughout Ohio and beyond,  to create a profile, which allows them to better promote themselves and their work. Being listed in the OAR provides artists with new opportunities to share their work with clients, galleries, patrons, and audiences. A listing in the OAR does not confer an endorsement, approval, or verification by the Ohio Arts Council.

Bio

I am a graduate of The American Academy of Art in Chicago, Illinois and have been combining my commercial art experience with traditional fine art to create popular modern compositions.

Much of my artwork depicts natural environments with an assortment of animal, bird and aquatic life portraits. Evelia Designs has created artwork for home decor and gifts purchased throughout the world.

As an artist and designer, I have exhibited my artwork at The Rutledge Gallery in Dayton, OH, The Mansfield Art Center in Mansfield, OH and Galeria Ekkles in Mansfield. Evelia was selected as The Official Artist for the 2014 National Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, DC beating out hundreds of some of the top artists in the United States for the honor.

She has had artwork selected for the past three Mansfield Art Center’s Juried Annual May Shows and won Staff Honorable Mention at the Inaugural Crow Festival held at the Mansfield Art Center. Evelia was the Featured Artist at the Inaugural Cup of Art Event held in downtown Mansfield hosted by The Society of Ohio Fine Artists (SOFA). This coming January she will have a solo exhibition at Wooster Community Hospital.

Among the many influences are early Chinese and Japanese block prints, early American illustrators such as Howard Pyle and N. C. Wyeth along with Arts and Crafts/Prairie Style movements in architecture and interior design.

Artist Statement

The noise and negativity in today’s culture permeates into everything we do and can be overwhelming. When viewing my artwork, I hope the viewer experiences the hope, wonder and positivity that still exists today in Mother Nature and in the human condition.

Through a variety of styles and a combination of mediums, including watercolor, acrylic, oils and digital, I want to cut through the noise and radiate positive energy out into the world. It is my sincere wish to have the viewer leave with a smile, feeling a little better about themselves and the world around them.
