The Ohio Artist Registry (OAR) is an exciting opportunity for artists to share their work, connect with the creative community, and establish an online presence—all on a free, virtual platform! The OAR encourages artists working in all art forms, throughout Ohio and beyond, to create a profile, which allows them to better promote themselves and their work. Being listed in the OAR provides artists with new opportunities to share their work with clients, galleries, patrons, and audiences. A listing in the OAR does not confer an endorsement, approval, or verification by the Ohio Arts Council.

Bio
Elise McKeown Skolnick received her first camera at age 10, as a Christmas gift. From the moment she held it in her hands she was intrigued. Even opening more presents lost its appeal. Instead, she made photos of her sisters and cousins (and still has those photos!). Photography never lost its appeal for her. Wherever she went she took a camera, and still does. Those initial photos she made with that 110 film camera were of things in her every day life – people, pets, birthday cakes, Christmas trees… She still does some portrait photography, but found her true calling to be in nature photography and photographing what she sees around her. She shoots whatever intrigues her. She rarely shoots a whole scene, focusing instead on a small part or parts that catch her eye, only including what’s important for the story she wants to tell. An award winning photographer, Elise’s work has been included in many juried exhibitions and is in numerous private collections. She has two daughters, two granddaughters, and lives in Austintown, Ohio with her husband David.
