The Ohio Artist Registry (OAR) is an exciting opportunity for artists to share their work, connect with the creative community, and establish an online presence—all on a free, virtual platform! The OAR encourages artists working in all art forms, throughout Ohio and beyond,  to create a profile, which allows them to better promote themselves and their work. Being listed in the OAR provides artists with new opportunities to share their work with clients, galleries, patrons, and audiences. A listing in the OAR does not confer an endorsement, approval, or verification by the Ohio Arts Council.

Artist Statement

DanBoi’s art seeks to portray and explore queer themes of the body and sexuality. As a queer person, DanBoi found conflict between their physical body and sense of gendered self. Through art they initially sought to accept and explore their sexed body through physical printmaking. This then led to an exploration of queer sexuality and themes. The method of using the body as a tool for printmaking allows one to explore the blurring of categories such as art, artist, and tool. It also requires one to explore how a three-dimensional body can be compressed or flattened through various pressings to give a sense of dimension and movement within the works.

DanBoi is currently exploring drawing, photography, and ceramics to expand their artistic explorations.
